Your profile photo
The upload control is not connected. Nothing is lost by ignoring it.
This article describes something in the app that is missing, partly built, or advertised elsewhere and not actually available. It says what happens today and how to get the outcome by hand. Everything of this kind is listed on known gaps.
The profile section in Account shows a photo placeholder and an upload control. It does not do anything — no handler is attached and no image is stored.
It is on our known gaps list.
What this affects
Very little. Nothing in the app depends on a profile photo. The avatar in the top-right corner shows your initials, which is what it will keep doing.
There is no shared or social surface in the app where other people see your profile, so there is nobody for the photo to be shown to.
If you are a practitioner
The thing you probably want is not a profile photo but practice branding — your logo on the materials you send to clients. That is a different setting and it does work: Account → Branding, on Pro. It carries your practice name, display name, logo, accent colour, website and contact email, and applies to branded share links and branded one-sheets.
If you uploaded nothing because the profile photo control did not work, check whether Branding is what you were actually after.
Editing the rest of your profile
Your name and pronouns in the same section do save correctly. It is only the photo that is inert.
