How Aquarius Design works.
Your chart is calculated from the real sky at the moment you were born. Here is how we turn that into something you can actually use.
Your date, time, and place of birth.
Time and place matter because the chart is a snapshot of the sky from exactly where and when you arrived. If you do not know your birth time, you can still get most of your chart.
Thirteen constellations, not twelve equal signs.
Most charts use the tropical zodiac, twelve equal 30-degree signs that begin at the March equinox. It follows the seasons, and the stars have drifted about 31 degrees from it. We measure against the constellations themselves: thirteen of them, unequal, from Virgo at almost 50 degrees to Ophiuchus at about 12, with each boundary drawn along the Sun's path by the Midpoint Method.
The sky, mapped onto your bodygraph.
We map the positions of the sun, moon and planets twice, at your birth and about three months before, against the constellations actually there. These are your conscious and unconscious sides. The parts that light up are defined: consistent, always-on parts of you. The parts that stay open are receptive: where you take in the world.
