Notification settings
The three toggles do not save, and no notification emails are sent at all.
This article describes something in the app that is missing, partly built, or advertised elsewhere and not actually available. It says what happens today and how to get the outcome by hand. Everything of this kind is listed on known gaps.
On this page
Account → Notifications offers three switches: significant transits, a weekly digest, and product updates.
Two things are true about them:
- The switches do not persist. Flip one, reload the page, and it is back where it started. They are visual state only.
- No notification emails are sent regardless. There is no scheduler and no sender behind any of the three. Turning them all on changes nothing; turning them all off changes nothing.
This is on our known gaps list.
What you will actually receive from us
Transactional mail only — the things that have to happen for the account to work:
- Account confirmation when you sign up.
- Password reset links when you ask for one.
- Payment receipts and failed-payment notices, sent by Stripe.
- Replies from a human when you write to support.
That is the complete list. If you are receiving something else that claims to be from us, treat it with suspicion.
Unsubscribing
Every non-transactional email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and it works. Since we do not currently send any, there is nothing to unsubscribe from — but the mechanism is there and honoured for when we do.
Why we have not just removed the toggles
Because a settings page that quietly loses your choices is worse than one that admits it. Removing them would also mean removing the only signal that these features are intended. They will be wired to something real; this article changes when they are.
If you want the weekly digest
Say so. Write to us. Knowing how many people actually want it is what decides whether it gets built next.
