Why the app keeps sending me to onboarding

New accounts are held at onboarding until your own chart exists. That is deliberate.

If you sign in and land on the onboarding screen every time — even when you try to go straight to the dashboard — the app is doing what it is designed to do.

Why

Almost every screen in the app is drawn relative to your own chart. Transits are today's sky over your chart. Relationships compare someone to your chart. The dashboard opens with your own type and authority. Without a chart marked as yours, those pages have nothing to render, and the app would have to show a half-empty shell instead.

So the app holds new accounts at onboarding until one chart exists that is marked as yours. It is two steps and it happens once.

What "marked as yours" means

When you create a chart, the form asks who it is for: yourself, another person, or a client. Only the yourself option satisfies onboarding. If you skipped ahead and cast a chart for a partner first, the app will still send you to onboarding, because it does not have one for you.

You can fix that from onboarding directly — enter your own birth data and the redirect stops.

If you are stuck in a loop

If you complete onboarding and it sends you back again, the chart did not save. Two usual causes:

  • The place field was typed but never picked from the list. The form requires you to select a city from the dropdown, because that is where the coordinates and time zone come from. Typed text alone is not enough. See when your birth place is not in the list.
  • The save request failed. Reload once and try again. If it repeats, write to us — include the town you were entering, because unusual places are the common trigger.

Changing your birth data afterwards

You are not locked in. Go to Account → Birth data, edit, and every chart in the app recalculates from the new values. See editing or deleting a chart.
