Creating your account
Email and password, a confirmation step, and what we do not offer yet.
This article describes something in the app that is missing, partly built, or advertised elsewhere and not actually available. It says what happens today and how to get the outcome by hand. Everything of this kind is listed on known gaps.
On this page
Accounts are email and password. That is the only sign-in method the app supports today.
Steps
- Go to the sign-in page and choose Create account.
- Enter your name, your email address and a password.
- Submit. You will see a screen that says to check your email.
- Open the confirmation email and click the link.
- You land in onboarding, where you enter your birth data and your first chart is cast.
Until you click the confirmation link, signing in will not work. This is the single most common reason a new account appears to be broken. See confirming your email if the message has not arrived.
What we do not have yet
There is no Google or Apple sign-in. It is deliberate rather than forgotten — social sign-in was deferred so that account ownership stays simple while the app is young. If you are used to signing in with a provider button, you will need to set a password here.
There is no magic-link sign-in. Password reset does send a one-time link, but you cannot use it as a routine way to sign in.
If either of those is a blocker for you, write to us. It is useful to know how many people it affects.
A note on trailing spaces
Password managers sometimes paste an email address with a space on the end. The form trims that for you on both the email and the name field, so a pasted credential works. If a sign-in still fails, retype the email by hand once to rule it out.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change my email address later?
Not from inside the app yet — the button exists but is not wired up. See changing your email for the manual route.
Do I need an account to see a chart?
To see your own saved chart, yes. Charts that someone has shared with you open on a public link with no account required.
