Gate 6 · Friction

Gate 6 governs whether your aura is open or closed to genuine intimacy. The "conflict" in the I Ching name is not interpersonal drama. It is the necessary friction between two separate beings making real contact. You cannot have closeness without some resistance at the boundary. Gate 6 sits in the Solar Plexus and connects to Gate 59 in the Sacral via the Channel of Mating (6-59). This is the primary tribal channel for intimacy and reproduction. It governs how the barriers between people dissolve. Gate 6 is an emotional gate: its expression rides the emotional wave.
